RANGE POLYAMIDE 6 amorphous - PA6-3T-

Characteristics of the PA6-3T

SPECIFIC CHARACTERISTICS

High degree of hardness and toughness.

Not susceptible to scratching and abrasion.

Good mechanical and electrical resistance.

Good potential as insulation.

Good chemical resistance.

Physiologically safe.

Sustainable transparency.

Amorphous Polyamide has excellent dielectric properties that are independent of water content.

High tracking resistance.

Good dielectric strength.

Mechanical and electrical properties vary

marginally depending on the usage temperature,

more at low temperatures (-40°C) than at high

temperatures (+100°C).

Use of T-PA6-3 in hot water above 60°C is not

recommended.

Heat deflection temperature under load

(HDT 1.8 N/mm2) 130°C

SPECIFIC PROPERTIES

Very good impact resistance.

Very good impact resistance (Charpy impact test,

unnotched, DIN 53453, unbroken specimen).

Good tensile strength with an elastic modulus of

2900 N/mm².

Good chemical resistance.

Good transparency (refractive index: n20 D =

1.566) 85% to 90% of visible light wavelengths

pass through.

Physiologically safe, may be used in contact with

food.

Good chemical resistance.

Amorphous polyamide resists well against weak alkalis, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, ethers and esters, trichloroethylene, carbon tetrachloride, toluene, benzole, oils, and fats.

It is not resistant to strong acids. However, it is

resistant to low concentrations of hydrochloric

acid, nitric acid, and sulphuric acid.

It resists well against cool water (20°C), but

immersion in hot water (80°C) alters its

mechanical properties and causes it to lose its

transparency.

PA6-3-T resists well against DOP, DIOP, and

DINP plasticisers.

PA6-3-T is self-extinguishing.

It has V2 classification under the UL 94 standard.
